The Wizards will sign Dwight Howard to a two-year contract worth $11 million, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. The second year is a player option:
Brooklyn finalized buyout with Dwight Howard, clearing way for him to sign 2-year, $11M deal with Washington, league sources tell ESPN. Deal includes player option.

We all knew Howard was coming to Washington after a buyout with the Brooklyn Nets, but the extra year is a little more advantageous to Howard. If Howard plays as well as both he and the Wizards hope, he shouldn’t have any issues securing a good deal in free agency next summer. However, it does create the potential to complicate their plans if he has an underwhelming year or gets hurt and decides to opt-in to the second year of his deal.
