Wizards to Target Nerlens Noel in Free Agency

Nerlens Noel being a target for the Wizards in free agency is logical since they have just traded away their starter in Marcin Gortat for Austin Rivers. After being drafted sixth overall in 2013, Noel is looking for a fresh opportunity to play with a new team. Noel will be an unrestricted free agent on July 1 after reportedly turning down a four-year deal worth around $70 million last July as a restricted free agent and taking the qualifying offer of $4.19 million instead.

Noel has career averages of 9.3 points per game on 51.2 percent shooting from the field. Most of this has come from Noel as a reserve. With the chance to take on a larger role, Noel could thrive in the right place.

Noel played his first three years in the league with the Philadelphia 76ers and the last two years with the Dallas Mavericks. With a DeAndre Jordan trade likely looming with the Dallas Mavericks, it looks like we have seen the last of Nerlens Noel in a Dallas Mavericks uniform.
