Ben Standig of The Sports Capitol and Troy Halliburton of Truth About It are reporting Carrick Felix will be on the Wizards’ Summer League Team in Las Vegas.
The Wizards gave Felix a regular season deal last fall after a strong performance in the preseason, but then they waived him after Markieff Morris returned from hernia surgery in November. He didn’t get a chance to play in the regular season in his short time with the Wizards, but got suspended one game for leaving the bench during the fight between Bradley Beal and Draymond Green.
After he was cut, Felix signed a deal to play in Australia. He averaged 8.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.1 steals in 20.9 minutes per game, while shooting 45.7 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from deep to help lead Melbourne United to the National Basketball League title.
The 33rd overall pick in the 2013 draft joins Troy Brown, Issuf Sanon, Devin Robinson, and Chris Chiozza, who are already confirmed to be on the Wizards’ Summer League team in Las Vegas. Their first game will be July 6 against the Cavaliers.
