The Wizards announced the following six players will be in Washington on Thursday for pre-draft workouts:

  • Keita Bates-Diop, Ohio State
  • Brandon McCoy, UNLV
  • Bryant Crawford, Wake Forest
  • Doral Moore, Wake Forest
  • Khadeem Carrington, Seton Hall
  • Jonathan Stark, Murray State

Bates-Diop is undoubtedly the highest-rated prospect in Thursday’s workout, but he’s all over the board in mock drafts. ESPN has him going 20th, The Ringer has him going 23rd, and NBADraft.net has him going 34th. It’s possible he could be in play with the Wizards’ 15th or 44th overall pick, depending on how things shake out over the next week.

It’s also possible the Wizards could be targeting a trade down, which would jive with Ben Standig’s report that the team brought Moritz Wagner in for a private workout on Tuesday. Wagner is also one of those prospects in the volatile 20-40 range of the draft, like Bates-Diop.

The other guy who could be on the Wizards’ draft radar is McCoy, who is currently 64th on ESPN’s Big Board. A strong workout could put him in consideration for the team’s second round pick, or make him a highly coveted target in the “third round” of the draft as teams gobble up the best undrafted talent.
