The Wizards will try to keep their season alive in Game 6 of their series against the Celtics on Friday night. And Game 6 seems to be a bad omen for the Wizards in recent memory.
It is true that the Wizards have lost Game 6 of a playoff series on their home floor multiple times in the past 10 years. They are:
- losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 6 of the first round of the 2006 playoffs
- losing to the Cavaliers in Game 6 of the first round of the 2008 playoffs
- losing to the Indiana Pacers in Game 6 of the second round of the 2014 playoffs
- losing to the Atlanta Hawks in Game 6 of the second round of the 2015 playoffs
I get it, the Wizards haven’t done well in Game 6’s. But in 2017, the Wizards won Game 6 of their second round playoff series against the Celtics, 92-91. That game ended as dramatically as you would expect, since John Wall made the game winning three, as you can see in the video above.
Washington is also coming into Game 6 to keep its home playoff game win streak alive. They already won eight straight home playoff games dating back to last season. We’ll see if they can tonight.
