What to Watch for
Can the Wizards crack the code against Charlotte?
Even though the Wizards have had more success than the Hornets over the past two seasons, Charlotte has won three of their last four games against Washington, including a 24 point blowout win the last time these two played back in mid-January.
The Wizards just don’t match up very well against this team. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Nicolas Batum make things frustrating for Bradley Beal and Otto Porter. Dwight Howard has grabbed at least 13 rebounds in each of his last four regular season games against the Wizards. Oh, and Kemba Walker is always a problem too. John Wall or no John Wall, this team is always an issue.
Charlotte’s big weakness this season has been their bench, but the Wizards failed to capitalize on that in either of the first two meetings. Jeremy Lamb went off for 24 in the first meeting and Frank Kaminsky had 14 in the second meeting. Washington will have to keep those maligned reserves in check if they want to avoid a letdown loss after Thursday’s big win in Cleveland.
