To our readers outside of the United States (and have a national holiday), Happy Second Day of Christmas! December 26 is a national holiday in many countries. In Canada and the United Kingdom, the second day of Christmas is called Boxing Day, which has nothing to do with ... boxing the sport.

The Wizards play the Detroit Pistons tonight at 7 p.m. EST. You can watch the game on NBC Sports Washington. And you can listen to the game on Federal News Radio 1500 AM or the Wizards mobile app.

The Pistons come into this game after losing eight of their last 10 games. Yikes! Despite their skid, Detroit is still 15-16 and well in the hunt for the playoff spot.

On the other hand, the Wizards are 13-21. Whenever things look like they are trending up a bit, they end up losing more games anyway. And as good as the triple overtime win was over the Suns last Saturday, Washington really shouldn’t have been in a position where it took them an extra 15 minutes to win and get steamrolled by the Pacers the next day.

Hopefully, the Wizards are rested up from opening their Christmas gifts earlier this week and are ready to go tonight. Washington needs a win more than ever and let’s close out 2018 on the right note over the next week.
