What to Watch for

Will the look ahead game be worth it?

Tuesday’s loss to the Hawks can be classified as a letdown game after their big win over the Lakers on Sunday, but it can also be classified as a look ahead game, since the Wizards — particularly John Wall — always seem to bring their A Game when they face James Harden and the Rockets.

When Wall looks at Harden, surely he has to think about how things might be different if he had gotten the same level of support throughout his career. Maybe he would have been the one to get that big shoe deal with Adidas. Maybe he would be the one getting all the foul calls. Maybe more people would focus on what he does well instead of dwelling on his flaws and what his supermax extension will look like.

Whatever the reason, now the Wizards have to make sure they make up for such a flat performance in Atlanta. The won an overtime thriller the first time these two met back in November thanks to a 36 point, 11 assist performance from John Wall. They’ll need more of the same on Wednesday.
