What to Watch for
Can Washington solve their woes in Brooklyn?
The Barclays Center doesn’t have a reputation as a difficult place to play, but the Wizards have had more than their fair share of struggles there recently. They went 0-2 there last season and are only 5-3 there over the past four seasons, which is a bit surprising considering the Nets’ issues over the last half-decade. Even in the team’s wins, they haven’t looked great. Four of the five were single-digit wins, including an overtime win 2017.
Last season was exceptionally rough for Washington. They lost a tough one in overtime and then followed it up with a 35-point loss ten days later.
What made last season’s losses especially rough was that the Wizards were perceived to be on a much higher level than the Nets. Now, that distinction isn’t so clear. Washington is only a half-game up on Brooklyn in the standings heading into this game. The winner will take sole possession of tenth place in the Eastern Conference.
