Daily Digits is a new daily feature we’re doing at Bullets Forever this year where we take a look at stats about the Wizards. We’ll dive into the numbers, add some context, and discuss how they affect the product on the court.
Today’s stat is Tomas Satoransky’s plus/minus over the last five games, which is...
+46
Plus/Minus has its flaws, just like any other stat, but it’s always notable when one player is well ahead of everyone else in something.
Over the last five games, Satoransky is well ahead of everyone else on the team in plus/minus. The next closest player is Jeff Green at +34. Four players over the same span are -20 or lower.
If nothing else, it’s fair to say Satoransky is having a positive impact, and it’s high time for him to get some more action on the floor. Scott Brooks indicated after Tuesday’s win — in which Satoransky had 13 points, 7 boards, and 3 assists — that he’s on board.
Brooks: "Tomas Satoransky just plays hard...He plays the right way." Says again he needs to get Sato more minutes: "That's on me."

Brooks has said things like this before, only to keep things the same, but considering he just pulled the trigger on changing the starting lineup, it might be real this time.
Satoransky may not be the cure for all the Wizards’ woes, but he’s been one of the rare sources of a spark this season. They should keep finding ways to use him.
