The Wizards play the Raptors tonight at 7 p.m. EST. You can watch it on NBC Sports Washington or NBA TV nationally. Wizards fans north of the American border can watch it on TSN. Listen to the game locally on Federal News Radio 1500 AM or on the Wizards Mobile App.
The Wizards are not off on the right foot to start the new season. Dwight Howard is still not in game shape, so we saw Ian Mahinmi, the Pride of Normandy, in his place. He did well when he wasn’t fouling every two minutes. No player is going to get much time when he is fouling that much.
The Raptors, like the Wizards, made some significant changes since last season. DeMar DeRozan is out and Kawhi Leonard is now in what some believe is just a one year rental. The Raptors certainly aren’t a glamour team like the Warriors or the Lakers, at least historically — even if LeBron James now plays for them now. But the bottom line is that this team, despite their 2015 “playoff woes” has recovered quite nicely from it all. But the Wizards? Not so much.
Anyway, here’s hoping for a big win. For Jake Whitacre’s sake. Go Wizards!
