Well, you know what they say, Wizards season hasn’t truly begun until Markieff Morris gets ejected from a game. Thankfully, it didn’t take long for Morris to get into rhythm this season. He picked up a technical in the second quarter of Monday’s preseason opener against the Knicks after getting into a scuffle with Mitchell Robinson, and then followed it up just a few seconds later with another tech that got him ejected from the game.

You never want to read too much into what happens in the first half of a preseason game, but if you were hoping the Wizards would turn over a new leaf this season, this isn’t what you want to see.
Last season, Washington was one of the worst teams in the league at picking up technical fouls. The Wizards were one of only three teams with two players who reached double digits in technical fouls. Morris had 13, tied for fifth-most in the league. Kelly Oubre Jr. had 10. And now, they have Dwight Howard, who led the league with 17 last season.
