Wizards vs. Knicks: Washington wins all three food promotions in win

New, comments

This is the third time this happened in the 2017-18 NBA season!

The Wizards won at home against the Knicks, 121-103. What’s even better is that D.C. area residents can all celebrate tomorrow with discounted or free food in three different ways!

McDonald’s Large Fries

The Wizards led 33-32 at the end of the first quarter, just enough for everyone with the McDonald’s mobile app on their Apple iOS or Android phone to get some free large fries with any purchase. So, if you want to buy a drink for a buck, you get fries with that too!

As long as you live within the Washington, D.C. area (sorry Baltimore and Richmond suburbs), you’ll get this deal!

A #WIZ50 from Papa John’s Pizza

Company Signs

The Wizards scored over 100 points, so when you order online from Papa John’s, you get 50 percent off regular price. That’s better than most of the deals they have. It also only works when you enter the WIZ50 code.

Since the weather’s going to be REALLY cold tomorrow, why not order pizza (or wings or breadsticks) for lunch? It’s a great way for office managers around the area to save some dough. Just not pizza dough.

Chick-fil-A sandwiches (if you were in attendance)

Jarrett Jack missed two free throws in the fourth quarter. When that happens, every fan in attendance gets a free Chick-fil-A sandwich from most D.C. area locations, no questions asked. You must show your ticket stub for it. They are good for the next week.

Why are you talking about food all the time?

I’ll admit it. I’m shameless promoting the Wizards’ free food offers and want to join in on them like anyone else.

But this is now the third time they’ve won all three food promotions on the same night, since the Wizards can only win two of them during road games.

And even if you don’t like McDonald’s fries, Papa John’s, or Chick-fil-A because you’re trying to stick to your new year’s resolutions, here’s something else to consider. These food promotions are sort of a barometer of the Wizards’s success.

When we get more McDonald’s fries offers, that means the Wizards started the game on the right note most of the time. When we get half priced Papa John’s Pizza, that means, the offense generally put up a solid performance. And with free Chick-fil-A sandwiches, that’s a sign that the home crowd knows how to get loud, even for a second. When the Wizards win all three food promotions, it’s a sign that everything clicked.
