The Washington Mystics (18-16) weren’t able to get the win over the top seeded Minnesota Lynx this afternoon, lost 72-86.
Not the finish we wanted but...

Any way you slice it, it was a very weird game. In the first half, basically when Meesseman was out the Lynx went crazy, and when she was in, the Mystics got on track. Meesseman ended the game as the only player with a + rating.
Unfortunately, she accumulated 3 fouls in that first half, and Coach Thibault didn’t play Elena Delle Donne too much, either. She had 11 minutes through two quarters. The two starters combined for 37 minutes total for the game.
Clearly, Coach T had something on his mind and it was the Mystics playoff game on Wednesday.
Kristi Toliver hit four threes and everyone else did contribute, but there is no way the Mystics can expect to win with both EDD and Meesse on the bench. Not mad at Coach, he knows what’s up.

Regardless, the Mystics have a playoff game on Wednesday.
