Kara Lawson & Drew Gooden named new Wizards color analysts.

According to The DC Sports Bog, Kara Lawson will join Steve Buckhantz to provide color commentary for Wizards games this season. Drew Gooden will reportedly join the in-studio team (probably replacing Ronnie Thompson) for NBC Sports Washington and will occasionally join Buck and Kara for 3 person booths. Phil Chenier will occasionally provide color commentary as well.

Honestly, I'm ok with this this even if it wasn't my first choice. I thought Caron Butler woulda been the first choice, followed by Christy Winters-Scott. But Lawson's a solid pick with local ties and since she'll still call NBA and NCAA games for ESPN as part of her deal, we'll probably still get plenty of Buck and Phil.

That said, I'm not so sure about Drew Gooden. He only spent parts of 3 seasons here, and to be charitable, he was only good for roughly 3 months as a Wizard. On the other hand, he's a colorful personality who (like Butler) has shared the court with roughly 75% of all active NBA players at some point. So yeah, it'll be an adjustment.
