Today, the Wizards kick off the 2017-18 season with their annual Media Day.
While it may not contain all the drama and excitement of the first game of the regular season, it’s still an important event. Days like this give the players and coaches the opportunity to set goals and expectations that will shape the narratives around the upcoming season.
Some of the storylines might be predictable (Ian Mahinmi says he’s in the best shape of his life! John Wall thinks he can shoot 40 percent on threes this season! Bradley Beal thinks he can be the best shooting guard in the East!) but there are always one or two that catch people by surprise.
