On Friday, Wizards head coach Scott Brooks added a quick status update on center Ian Mahinmi to Ben Standig of the Locked on Wizards Podcast:
Injury update: Ian Mahinmi had a minor procedure on his knee following the season, per Brooks.
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) August 4, 2017
Mahinmi suffered a knee injury before the 2016-17 season which sidelined him until Feburary 2017, though he did play a few minutes on November 26, 2016 against the San Antonio Spurs.
There’s a good chance that this knee procedure was truly minor, so we should see Mahinmi ready for training camp this fall. But then again, Mahinmi has been quite injury prone since coming to Washington. Here’s hoping for the best.
