Wizards fans received two pieces of good news on Thursday when the NBA released its Opening Week and Christmas Day schedules for the 2017-18 season.
The Wizards will open the 2017-18 season at home on Wednesday, October 18 when they host the Philadelphia 76ers at Capital One Arena (f/k/a Verizon Center) at 7 p.m. ET. Furthermore, the game will be on ESPN. This is the first time the Wizards opened the regular season at home since the lockout shortened 2011-12 season.
In addition, the Wizards will head to Boston on Monday, December 25 to play the Celtics at 5:30 p.m. ET on ABC TV. It’s a rematch of last season’s Eastern Conference semifinals that went to the brink. Unfortunately, the Wizards didn’t win the series, but that was last year.
The remaining games of the 2017-18 NBA season will be released at a later date. I’m stoked that the Wizards will start the season at home and play a rival on Christmas Day. How about you?
