Oddly enough, they were paired against the Heat who went 2-1 in the preliminary round with wins against the Mavericks and ... the Wizards. Washington put together their most well-balanced effort in their 91-87 loss to Miami on Monday, but they couldn’t overcome their turnover and foul issues in the loss.
If Washington can sort things out and get in the win column, they will advance to face the Clippers on Thursday. If they lose, they’ll face the loser of Wednesday’s Warriors - Timberwolves game in the consolation round on Friday.
Most Likely Wizards Killer (YES WE’RE STILL DOING THIS FOR SUMMER LEAGUE): Okaro White

White is a product of the Heat’s development factory. He started last season in Sioux Falls with Miami’s D-League team, but worked his way up to Miami’s roster mid-season right as the Heat started to hit their stride.
White had 15 points, 6 rebounds, and a pair of blocks against the Wizards on Monday. He followed that up with 17 points and 11 rebounds on Tuesday against the Mavericks. Washington will need to find a way to slow him down if they want a different outcome from the first time they faced off this week.
