The Wizards announced they will host six more NBA Draft prospects on Wednesday for their fifth and final predraft workout before Thursday’s draft. Here’s the full list of who will be attending:
- Troy Caupain Jr. - Guard, Cincinnati
- Alpha Kaba - Forward/Center, Mega Leks (Serbia)
- JeQuan Lewis - VCU
- Tahjere McCall - Tennessee State
- Hanner Mosquera-Perea - East Tennessee State
- Jalen Ross - Hartford
The big player to keep an eye on in this workout is Kaba. He averaged just over 10 points and 8 rebounds in under 24 minutes of action per game and also averaged nearly a block per game despite the limited minutes.
DraftExpress currently has him ranked 66th in there top-100, but he has come on strong in recent weeks. J. Michael of CSN Mid-Atlantic reported on Tuesday he could be on the Wizards’ radar as a player to develop with the 52nd pick.
Beyond that, there probably aren’t any draft prospects in this workout, but a few stand out as players who could get scooped as undrafted free agents.
Troy Caupain Jr. finished his career at Cincinnati as the only player in school history with more than 1,300 points and 500 assists. He ended his college career with the school’s all time record in assists with 515.
DraftExpress has him ranked as a top-50 senior. If nothing else, he could be a steady floor general during Summer League.
The same can be said for JeQuan Lewis, who had a very strong career at VCU. He probably isn’t efficient enough of a scorer to make the transition to the NBA, but his athleticism and uptempo play could be useful in Las Vegas, if nothing else.
