The Wizards have seen players suspended before during the playoffs. Remember Ted Leonsis in 2014 when Nene was suspended in Game 4 of their first round series against the Bulls?

This time, Leonsis decided to show his support for the suspended Kelly Oubre by wearing his jersey Sunday night:

His son Zach also wore Oubre’s jersey:

Before the game, Leonsis gave an interview to Chris Miller and Phil Chenier of Comcast SportsNet about the constant travel between Wizards and Capitals playoff games, future Wizards banners, and also defended Oubre. He did not say that Oubre should not have been suspended outright, but he openly wondered whether the suspension was excessive.
Let’s see if this rally around Oubre will work tonight as the Wizards try to even this series at two games a piece.
