The Wizards release an updated version of the “You Da Man” song

When you go to Verizon Center tonight to watch Game 3 of the Wizards’ playoff series against the Celtics, you will hear a new theme song. The song’s old, but there’s a new twist.

They’ve brought back “You Da Man” video, which highlights the Wizards’ current stars like of John Wall, Bradley Beal, Marcin Gortat, Otto Porter, and Markieff Morris. When this song was released in 1994-95, the then-Bullets had a lineup of Juwan Howard, Chris Webber, Calbert Cheaney, Scott Skiles, and Georghe Muresan:

The 1994-95 song will always remain a major part of Wizards fans’ lore, but the modern version has a vibe of its own with its own version of notable locals lip syncing like owner Ted Leonsis, celebrity chef Jose Andres, Monumental Sports employees, D.C. police, Mystics guards Tayler Hill and Ivory Latta, the Dave Johnson and Glenn Consor radio duo and the TV duo of Steve Buckhantz and Phil Chenier.
