As the seat of American government, Washington, D.C. is a political town. Because of that, people often consider the nation’s capital a boring city when it comes to sports and entertainment. Washington hasn’t won a Big Four sports league title since 1992 when the Redskins won the Super Bowl.
But things are changing with the Wizards on the cusp of making the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 1979. Back in February, Chuck Todd, the host of NBC’s “Meet the Press,” gave a shout out at the end of his show:
