What to watch for
Can the Wizards’ survive an emotional night in Detroit?
Normally, this would be a pretty meaningless regular season game. The Wizards are locked in as the fourth seed and the Pistons have been eliminated from playoff contention entirely. However, this isn’t your typical, end-of-season game.
This will be the Pistons’ final home game in The Palace at Auburn Hills before they move into Little Caesars Arena next season. Lots of Pistons legends from the Bad Boys era and the squad that won the 2004 NBA Finals will be there to send out The Palace in style.
It’s been a disappointing season, but you can bet the Pistons will try to finish it on a high note by winning the last game at The Palace.
Most Likely Wizards Killer: Boban Marjanovic
Stan Van Gundy has unleashed Marjanovic on the world over the past two games and the results have been very interesting. He had 27 points and 12 rebounds in 28 minutes in Houston on Friday, and followed it up with 14 and 10 in Memphis on Sunday. If he gets off to a good start, he could stir the crowd up into a fever pitch on an emotional night.
