Elena Delle Donne is still getting settled in Washington as she prepares for her first season with the Mystics, but she got a nice thank you note from someone who knows a thing or two about growing up in Delaware and making the move to Washington.
On Tuesday, Delle Donne shared a note she received from former Vice President Joe Biden:

It reads:
Dear Elena:
Congratulations on your recent move to the Washington Mystics! I look forward to watching you play here in the District. Washington is a great city, but the best part is that it’s only a short train ride from our home state of Delaware.

This isn’t the first time the two have crossed paths. Biden visited Delle Donne and her Delaware teammates during their 2013 run to the Sweet 16. He also wished her luck as part of Team USA in 2016.
