Since Ramon Sessions left the Wizards this past offseason, they have been left without a reliable backup point guard behind John Wall. Initially, they hoped that Trey Burke would fill those shoes, but distributing isn’t his strength. And Tomas Satoransky still has a learning curve to go through.
It looks like the Wizards are on the verge of signing recently-waived New York Knicks point guard Brandon Jennings, according to The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski — provided that he clears waivers:

The second tweet makes it sound like Jennings is all but a Wizard, but it’s important to hold your horses for a few more hours. This isn’t official yet.
Some teams, like the 76ers, Nets, Nuggets, Timberwolves, and Jazz have the cap space to claim him and the remainder of his $5,000,000 salary this season. However, most of these teams are not likely to be playoff bound where they can use veteran help, and the Jazz aren’t likely to sign him.
Jennings averaged 8.6 points and 4.9 assists this season in 58 games (11 starts) for the Knicks. If the Wizards can get him, that should further help shore up the bench, which has underperformed most of the season.
