Donald Trump's speech to affect transportation to Verizon Center tonight

Plan accordingly.

U.S. President Donald Trump will give a speech to a joint session of Congress tonight at 9 p.m. ET at the United States Capitol. He is expected to travel to the White House in his motorcade.

Though President Trump will probably leave the White House after the Wizards vs. Warriors game starts at 7 p.m. ET, expect security to tighten up bigly, especially on Pennsylvania Avenue NW. Unfortunately, many commuters to the Wizards game will have to cross that street, so please get there as early as you can.

The Presidential Motorcade may not just affect your pregame commute. Your commute back home may also be affected if you stay late after the game. Approximately sometime between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET, President Trump will head back to the White House once he is done speaking to Congress.
