What to Watch for

How will the Wiz play with a chip on their shoulder?

There’s a couple reasons for the Wizards to be a little irked as they go into Wednesday’s game against Boston. This was supposed to be one of the few opportunities Washington got to play on national TV, but the NBA decided to take that away from them after their slow start. John Wall made a public note of the snub on Twitter:

On top of that, this is the first time the Wizards will face Al Horford since he decided to spurn them and sign with the Celtics in free agency (he missed the first meeting this season with a concussion). We could be in for a wild finish in this one.

How will both teams respond after draining games on Tuesday?

The Wizards needed very big games from John Wall and the rest of the starters to survive a complete collapse by the bench against the Bulls on Tuesday. The Celtics blew a late lead in Toronto that would have helped them pull even with the Raptors in the standings. The first few minutes of this game will say a lot about how much they have left in the tank.

Most Likely Wizards Killer: Gerald Green

Green has worked his way into the Celtics’ rotation after spending most of the early part of the season on the bench. He’s come through with some big games as of late. He had 19 points in 19 minutes against the Grizzlies two weeks ago, 15 points in 16 minutes against the Pelicans on Saturday, and 14 points in 24 minutes against the Raptors on Tuesday. It’s almost like he’s been playing himself into shape to have another big night against the Wizards.
