The (11-17) Washington Mystics had a big game today in Dallas, fighting for a playoff spot against the (9-21) Dallas Wings. It wasn’t pretty, but the Mystics got the job done. That’s what matters. (Just ignore the music in the background):

The Good News
Tayler Hill scored 25 points on 6 of 15 shooting. It’s a nice bounceback from her last showing (5-22). Evidently, if she shoots 40 percent, the Styx can beat one of the worst teams in the association. She scored 25 points in the win and here are the highlights:

Emma Meesseman had FOUR blocks and LaToya Sanders had FIVE. Sanders also got the game-saving block which ends up being the play of the game.
Well done on defense!
The Bad News
This is possibly one of the worst looking wins a team can have. They only had 11 assists. That is a team I am not familiar with. “Run under the basket”. Mission accomplished.
I know that Tierra Ruffin-Pratt had 14 points, but her defense has just been pitiful this year. And in general, Washington was trailing Dallas at halftime and after the third quarter.
The Neutral News
Wings forward Glory Johnson went out early with an undetermined situation. But plenty of other Dallas playerss stepped up to keep the game competitive.
The Mystics start their homestand this week against the Sky on Wednesday, the Storm on Friday, and next Sunday against the Fever. They are still in the thick of the playoff hunt, and this gritty win kept them in it.
