Both the USA Basketball men’s and women’s teams are playing today. Here’s a preview on the games the Americans will play and everyone else as well.

USA women play Serbia this afternoon

The Americans play Serbia the 2015 EuroBasket champs at 2:30 p.m. ET. You can watch it at NBC SportsNet or otherwise on NBCOlympics.com.

Who should you keep an eye on Team Serbia?

Serbia’s top three players are point guard Milica Dabovic, Sparks guard Ana Dabovic (who is Milica’s younger sister), and Jelena Milovanovic, who played for the Mystics in 2014. I don’t expect Serbia to beat the Americans, and this game will likely end up being a 30-40 point blowout. In addition, Sonja Petrovic is a forward for the Mercury.

However, early on, expect the Big Three and Petrovic to try to make things a little interesting. Yes, Serbia lost both of their games so far, but they’ve proven to be an upset-happy team. It won’t happen against the USA, but we’ve seen this time and time again with European teams in the past few years.

Other women’s basketball games in Group B

You can watch these games on NBCOlympics.com:

  • China vs. Spain, 11:15 a.m. ET - Both teams enter this match 1-1. Expect Spain to win this one.
  • Senegal vs. Canada, 4:45 p.m. ET - Canada is undefeated and should end up being 3-0 in comfortable fashion.

USA men play Australia in the early evening

The Australia Boomers have plethora of NBA talent.

The men’s team will play Australia at 6 p.m. ET. You can watch this game on NBC SportsNet or NBCOlympics.com as well. The Boomers are ranked 11th in the world, but they also enter today’s game undefeated.

How many NBA players are on the Boomers?

Five Boomers are on NBA teams. They are Aron Baynes (Pistons), Andrew Bogut (Mavericks), Matthew Dellavedova (Bucks), Joe Ingles (Jazz), and Patty Mills (Spurs). None of these players are superstar, but they won’t be intimidated by Team USA by an means.

Intimidation doesn’t mean that the Boomers will be able to keep things close against the Americans. This is still probably going to be a 20-30 point blowout... Feels kinda weird saying this without feeling nervous.

Other men’s basketball games in Group A

You can watch these games on NBCOlympics.com:

  • Serbia vs. France, 1:15 p.m. ET - Both teams are 1-1 heading into this match. Nikola Jokic is the only NBA players on here, but many players here are on top EuroLeague teams like CSKA Moscow in Russia and Fenerbache in Turkey. I’m leaning toward the French winning here nevertheless.
  • Venezuela vs. China, 9:30 p.m. ET - This game is between the two weakest teams in the group. Toss up to me.

Enjoy your Wednesdays everyone.
