Storylines

Jimmy Butler comes home - Kevin Durant received his first home reception last Tuesday when the American beat China for the second time along with Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. This time, it's Jimmy Butler's turn. In addition, Team USA assistant coach Tom Thibodeau returns to Chicago, where he spent several years as the Bulls' head coach.

A prelude for a Group A match - The Venezuelans will play the Americans in group play for the Olympics after an impressive run in the FIBA Americas tournament in Mexico last year. Their semifinal win against Canada is likely the reason why they are here instead of . They only have one NBA player in Vasquez who should be more than amped for this contest.

Don't be too sloppy - The Americans did defeat the Chinese 107-57 on Tuesday, but they also committed 16 turnovers. The worst offender was DeAndre Jordan who committed four of them in just less than 10 minutes of action. I get that Team USA will be favored to win today once again -- and they're favored to win every game. However, I hope I don't see another turnover-filled game like what I saw on Tuesday.
