Kelly Oubre named to All-NBA Summer League Second Team

The NBA announced Kelly Oubre was named to the All-NBA Summer League Second Team for his performance in Las Vegas. He averaged 19.2 points per game, the 13th highest scoring average in Las Vegas, and also had 5.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.8 steals per game for the Wizards, who finished with a 3-2 record.

Certainly there are things to nitpick with Oubre’s performance in Las Vegas. He only shot 37.5 percent from the field, his assist rate wasn’t very high, and at times he was more focused on forcing turnovers than playing positional defense. Still, making the second team should serve as an indication of how his game has developed since last season and the impression he made around the league with his performance.

Jaylen Brown, Norman Powell, Thon Maker, and Tyler Ulis were the other players named to the Second Team.

Tyus Jones (the Summer League MVP), Bobby Portis, Ben Simmons, Alan Williams, and Jordan McRae were named to the First Team.
