The Washington Wizards’ dramatic win on Tuesday afternoon was enough to vault the Wizards to the seventh seed and a first round bye in the Las Vegas Summer League Tournament, which begins on Wednesday.

Washington will get to rest and take on the winner of Wednesday’s game between the 10th seeded Hawks (who Washington lost to on Sunday) and the 23rd seeded Kings on Thursday, July 14 at 4 p.m. EST.

If the Wizards win on Thursday, they’ll advance to face the quarterfinals which begin on Saturday. If they lose, they will play in the consolation round on Friday to complete their Summer League journey.

This is the first time the Wizards have earned a first-round bye in the Las Vegas Summer League Tournament since 2014, when Glen Rice Jr. and Otto Porter helped Washington to a 3-0 record in preliminary action and took the team to semifinals before they were eliminated.
