In what has become something of an annual tradition, Kentucky's Rupp Arena will host a preseason game featuring two big stars who played with the program. Three years ago John Wall and the Wizards took on Anthony Davis and the Pelicans. Last year, Davis and the Pelicans took on DeMarcus Cousins and the Kings. Now, it looks like they're set to complete the cycle, according to multiple reports:
Kings-Wizards to play preseason game in Rupp Arena on Oct 15, same date as TWolves-Heat game at KFC YUM! Center

NBA announces the Kings and Wizards will play a preseason game at Rupp on Oct. 15.

In the press release for the event, Wall said
"I am excited to be returning to Lexington for our preseason game on Oct. 15. Rupp Arena holds a special place in my heart and I look forward to playing in front of the best college basketball fans in the country."
That would seem to indicate he thinks he'll be ready to play after undergoing a procedure last month. That, plus the fact that the Wizards are still scheduled for this game, instead of the Timberwolves (who feature former Wildcat Karl-Anthony Towns) is a sign the team is optimistic Wall should be able to play.
Either way, the real winner here is the Trade Machine. Because as long as Wall and Cousins are separated in the NBA, fans will always try to find ways to reunite them.
