Wizards vs. Hawks preview: Washington tries for sixth-straight win against division foe

NBA: Washington Wizards at Atlanta Hawks Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Wizards have handled adversity quite well this season. They've dealt with personal loss and personnel loss this season and yet they've still managed keep themselves in the playoff race, thanks in part to some impressive wins over the Spurs and Cavaliers.

The Wizards have not handled prosperity well this season. They've lost winnable games to teams like the Lakers and Pelicans, and have struggled to use home court to their advantage, save for their recent winning streak.

Coming into Wednesday's game, things are starting to look prosperous again for the Wizards. Players are getting healthy, the starting unit is clicking, and they've won five straight, including an impressive win against the Hawks earlier in the week.

If Washington is serious about getting back into the playoff hunt, they'll need to find a way to build on their recent prosperity against the Hawks. Otherwise, it will be back to adversity at a time when the team can't afford to be going back and forth.

Injury Report

Alan Anderson and Bradley Beal are questionable for the Wizards.

Tiago Splitter is out for the Hawks.

Most Likely Wizards Killer: Kent Bazemore

Bazemore was only 2-8 from the field when the Hawks and Wizards played on Monday, as the Wizards dared Jeff Teague to beat them most of the night. If we had to guess, the Hawks will come ready with a way to exploit that and the Wizards will have to respond by daring someone else to beat them. Expect him to get lots of opportunities to rebound from Monday's showing.
