UPDATE: The J.J. Hickson signing is official.
Here's what Ernie Grunfeld had to say about signing Hickson:
"Signing J.J. for the remainder of the season gives us another solid veteran who will bring more depth to our frontcourt. "His experience, athletic ability and physical presence will be solid additions to our team as we continue our playoff push."

The Wizards appear to be moving quickly to bolster their frontcourt after dealing both Kris Humphries and DeJuan Blair to Phoenix at the trade deadline:
Free agent JJ Hickson is in advanced discussions on a deal with the Washington Wizards for rest of season, league sources tell The Vertical.— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) February 23, 2016
Hickson hasn't appeared in a game since early December after falling out of Mike Malone's rotation in Denver, and after being the subject of some trade chatter leading up to the trade deadline, was waived by the team. He'll end up taking DeJuan Blair's role in Washington; a big body that can soak up minutes at the 5, but more importantly, to act as Nene insurance during this important stretch. The Wizards are in the midst of an eight games in twelve nights stretch, it's safe to assume Nene won't be playing in all of them.
