Wizards center Marcin Gortat was hanging out at the Polish Embassy in Washington earlier Monday when he announced two things:
- Polish Heritage Night is on Saturday, March 5 against the Indiana Pacers. Last year's event was really cool, which I recapped here.
- He was giving away six tickets for that game.
In next 60 min i will give away tickets for Polish heritage night!

Sure enough, three lucky fans won a pair of tickets for the Polish Heritage Night game. And to show you proof, Gortat took a picture with each one of them with Ryszard Schnepf, the Polish Ambassador to the United States:

This isn't the first time Gortat has done this. On November 12, 2015, he gave several lucky fans tickets AND treated them to dinner at Darna, a Middle Eastern restaurant in Arlington.
Unfortunately, I wasn't in Washington at the time Gortat put out his tweets. But if I was able to make it there, I don't think I could simply say "Polish Heritage Night" and win a free pair of tickets. I piled on the Polish women's basketball team for losing to Mystics forward Emma Meesseman and Team Belgium last Saturday in EuroBasket 2017 qualifiers.
I'd have to give an apology first.
So please forgive me for being so mean to Poland over the weekend Marcin. I just had to support the folks who play on my local teams.
I can still be one of your biggest fans for Polish Heritage Night, right? :)
