After four years of waiting, Washington Wizards fans finally got to see Tomas Satoransky in a Wizards uniform on Tuesday night.
Though the Wizards lost, Satoransky made a strong opening impression on the floor. Here’s a quick collection of his highlights against the Heat:
He finished with 8 points (2-6 shooting, 4-4 at the free throw line), 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2 turnovers in 31 minutes of action. More impressively, in a game where the starters struggled and the Heat won by 9, the Wizards had an even plus/minus when Satoransky was on the floor.
Of course, it’s important to remember this is only one game, and one where he was mostly going up against Miami’s reserves. That said, there was a lot to like here. He seemed very comfortable pushing the ball up the court and didn’t seem to be overwhelmed by the athleticism of the NBA game. If he can be a reliable offensive threat off the bench for the Wizards this season, it could go a long way in alleviating the pressure on John Wall and Bradley Beal to create all the offense.
