Wizards go 1-2 in their last three games

On Saturday, the Wizards got their fourth win in a row by beating the Brooklyn Nets, 111-96. That win sparked off a significant event in the D.C. area sports scene which I'll get to later in this piece.

Unfortunately, the Wizards' trended downward from there as they lost 108-91 to the Clippers last Monday at home and 94-91 to the Raptors on the road.

The Wizards are currently 14-16 and still wouldn't be playoff-bound if the season ended today.

Highlight of Saturday's game vs. Brooklyn: Jarell Eddie scores 12 points in his NBA debut

Eddie was in the D-League last week playing for the Austin Toros before he made the most of his first-ever NBA game on Saturday. Eddie made four three-pointers in the fourth quarter to help turn what was then a close game with the Nets into a blowout.

For that, he deserves a retweet:

Highlight of Monday's game vs. the Clippers: John Wall's 23 points and 13 assists

The Wizards were blown out on Monday, but don't fault the Wizards' franchise star because he put on another strong performance as a scorer and passer to add to his excellent December.

Highlight of Wednesday's game vs. the Raptors: John Wall makes a free throw in front of a bikini-clad dinosaur

I've heard loud chants and profanities screamed in late game situations. But I've never seen anything like this:

Because Wall made that free throw in the face of a tactic that would've distracted 99.99 percent of the rest of us, he deserves a retweet:

Marcin Gortat had a great December, was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week (12/21 to 12/27)

Congratulations to the Polish Hammer for a great week, and great month. Retweet the thing below!

Injury report: Wall is a walking wounded warrior, while Beal, Nene and Gooden get closer to returning

Wall wore Nike basketball shoes on Wednesday which made us speculate EVERYTHING.

But there's an explanation for it:

Yes, he's performing at a high level, but Wall is nursing a sprained foot, sprained ankle, a bruised and sprained MCL knee, bruised ribs, and a lot of stress.

I won't question Wall for wearing a different shoe on Wednesday. But you'd think Adidas would have some plan for him to wear a generic shoe, even if Wall is a sneaker free agent and agreed to wear the shoes during the season.

Meanwhile, Bradley Beal has resumed non-basketball activities after suffering a stress reaction in his right fibula. Nene and Drew Gooden III may play games early this month too. All of that is good news considering the exotic lineups we've seen at times this past month.

The Wizards are still not taking enough threes

L.W. wrote a detailed analysis that the Wizards are still not attempting enough threes despite moving to the pace-and-space offense system this season. What makes it more frustrating is that the team's new corps of shooters are making their long range shots at a decent rate.

FanPost of the Week: What do the Wizards need to be a contender?

ThePGPhenomenon wrote a lengthy, but great FanPost on the types of players needed to be a contender. Since Washington may very well be headed for the lottery, this quote is pessimistic, but not unrealistic either:

The Wizards' roster will likely get a big overhaul unless they pull off a miraculous run this year. Hopefully the roster will be more suited for the pace and space system they are running. There is always a chance that this process can start before this year's trade deadline if they aren't able to get back into the playoff picture soon.

If you haven't given it a read, please do.

Best of BF 2015

The year 2015 is over, and our ongoing review of the year that was is here, where we talk about your best FanPosts, our best tweets, and much more.

Ted, what is that you're wearing?

The Wizards, Capitals, and Redskins all won on the same day for the first time since 1983

On December 26, 2015, D.C. area sports fans got a nice treat from three major league sports teams when they all won on the same day. It hasn't happened in over 32 years!

But believe it or not, this isn't the first time three D.C. area Big-Four League teams have won on the same day in 2015.

It happened on April 21 when the Wizards beat the Raptors in Game 2 of their playoff series; Capitals beat the Islanders in Game 4 of their playoff series AND the Nationals beat the Rangers in a regular season game.

Of Saturday's games, the Redskins' was the most significant because they clinched the NFC East Divisional Title and an NFL Playoff spot.

That's all I have in a stories post that is around 1,000 words. Have another link to share? Do so in the comments, or a FanPost.
