Top stories of the week: Mystics eliminated in playoffs, Wizards training camp starts next week, & more KD2DC

One team's season ends and another's is finally about to begin.

We've made it through another week in September, and we can now smell NBA Basketball. We can't taste it just yet, but that day will come soon enough.

Here are the top storylines this week.

The Mystics' 2015 season is done, lose in three games to the New York Liberty in the first round

Washington won the first game in the series, but lost two straight after that to the top team in the WNBA's Eastern Conference. The Liberty's now in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Indiana Fever, where they won yesterday in Game 1 of that series.

L.W. and I have more to say about it in the coming days and weeks, but in the meantime, here's the recap of Game 3 and our StoryStream.

Wizards training camp starts NEXT TUESDAY AT TOWSON UNIVERSITY!

To be exact, they will be in Towson from Tuesday through Thursday. The Wizards will resume their camp at Verizon Center on Friday through Sunday as well.

But seriously, this is a good thing.

Caron Butler wrote a book, gave his take on GunGate AND WANTS KD IN DC!

The now-Sacramento Kings wing reminisced his time in the nation's capital and shed light on Gilbert Arenas' and Javaris Crittenton's incident which ultimately spelled the end of the "old Big Three's" time together.

I gotta get a copy of that book, and I'll reiterate one of the main points in my Happy Birthday post to him last season. Can't wait to see the day he's recognized as a Wizards alumnus after he calls it a career.
