John Wall gets drafted to Snoop Dogg's flag football team for L.A. charity game

Wall will play with or against a number of NBA players and celebrities in Sunday's contest at UCLA's Drake Stadium. There is also no shortage of people in the game who have ties with the Wizards in some way or another.

On Sunday, there will be a celebrity flag football game at UCLA's Drake Stadium, hosted by Athletes vs. Cancer, a foundation founded by Memphis Grizzlies swingman Matt Barnes. Barnes and rap superstar Snoop Dogg then held a Twitter draft on Friday to select the athletes and other celebrities who will be in the game.

John Wall was among the participants eligible to play for the game, and Snoop Dogg used his seventh pick to get him:

Besides Snoop, Wall will be teammates with Dallas Mavericks center (and former Wizard) JaVale McGee, Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas, free agent forward Glen Davis, former NBA guard Baron Davis, MMA fighter Chuck Liddell, as well as former NFL players Terrell Owens and Matt Leinart.

Barnes selected Clippers center DeAndre Jordan, Thunder forward (and D.C. native) Kevin Durant, Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard, Suns guard Eric Bledsoe, CFL player Jason Barnes, former UCLA player DeShaun Foster, actor Donovan Carter, Basketball Wives of LA's Brandi Maxiell and Laura Govan (who is Gilbert Arenas' ex), actor Peter Dante, and Lakers guard (and yet another former Wizard) Nick Young.

The event will have a number of other notable NBA players like Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and more. Wall, Snoop, and the gang will play on Sunday, August 23 at 6 p.m. Pacific Time. Since Wall says he's the fastest player in the NBA, could he live up to be a deep threat on the gridiron? We'll see by the time this weekend comes to an end.
