Big day based on the quantity of games. So let's get to it.

1. The Mystics host the Liberty at 11:30 a.m.

The Mystics play for the first time in a week as they host the New York Liberty at Verizon Center for a matinee game. Now, you're thinking. Why the hell is a WNBA team going to play a game during lunch hour on a weekday?

It's because this is one of two camp games that the Mystics are hosting. Therefore, many seats will be full of kids watching a basketball game, and the screams can be quite screeching from what I've heard. These matinee camp games are something that every WNBA team does, partly for the goodwill, and partly to boost attendance.

There is one piece of personnel news around the team. They have signed LaToya Sanders (neé Pringle), who played college basketball at North Carolina and also was on the Turkish national team in last year's FIBA World Championship. To make room for Sanders, the Mystics cut Kayla Thornton. The Mystics held Sanders' rights from a trade with the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2011-12 offseason when they acquired her and Natasha Lacy in exchange for Nicky Anosike.

Sanders' acquisition marks the return of a Mystics player who was technically acquired, drafted, or signed by Trudi Lacey, who was the Mystics' GM and Head Coach before Mike Thibault arrived. However, Sanders never played for Lacey and chose to stay overseas until now. So, in practice, she isn't a "Lacey player" per se. Expect Sanders to play as the team's backup power forward/center behind Emma Meesseman and Stefanie Dolson.
