David West has decided to sign with the San Antonio Spurs on a veteran minimum deal. Per David Aldridge,
David West walked from $12M for $1.4M and a chance at a ring. Everybody's not in this just for the money.

The Wizards were one other team that West was considering signing with for the 2015-16 season, but he ultimately decided that they don't have as much of a chance to win a championship in 2016 as the Spurs do. I don't disagree. In addition, the Cavaliers and Heat also were potential suitors for his services this past weekend.
Even though Washington didn't win the West sweepstakes, I'm actually quite pleased to see that West even considered playing for the Wizards. I'm not calling Washington a prime free agent destination just yet, but we're getting there.
