He set the tone for Washington early with strong left-handed drives to the basket sparking a 13-2 first quarter run. The Kansas rookie finishing with 11 points, six rebounds, two assists and three steals on 4 of 11 shooting.
Damion James was impressive with 15 points. Scott Machado and Shawn Jones each added 12.
Dwight Powell was the high point man for the Mavericks with 18, and former Wizard Jordan Crawford scored 12 points (0-7 from 3-point range).
Washington was able to share the wealth offensively with five players in double figures, but defense was where the game was won. The Wizards were able to hold Dallas to 33.3 percent shooting while converting 47.1 percent of their shots at the other end.
