The Wizards announced who will be participating in their final pre-draft workout on Tuesday, and it's a deep, interesting field to say the least:
Name | Pos. | From | DX Ranking |
Christian Wood | F | UNLV | 25 |
R.J. Hunter | G | Georgia State | 26 |
Anthony Brown | G/F | Stanford | 27 |
Mouhammadou Jaiteh | C | France | 37 |
Olivier Hanlan | G | Boston College | 50 |
Sir'Dominic Pointer | G | St. John's | N/A |
Up until now, most of the big names at the Wizards' pre-draft workouts have been combo guards, defensive-minded wing players and big men who can stretch the floor. Hunter and Brown are the first sharpshooters on the wing they've taken a look at who could be available with the 19th pick. Though, to be fair, they're the only players in that range who fits that mold, so perhaps their late inclusions are just a matter of timing, but it's still interesting to see them invited.
For what it's worth, here are the notable names who could be available with the 19th pick the Wizards did not bring in for a pre-draft workout:
- Trey Lyles
- Kelly Oubre
- Tyus Jones
- Sam Dekker
- Montrezl Harrell
- Jarell Martin (The Wizards invited Martin for a workout, but he cancelled, reportedly after receiving a first round guarantee from a team).
- Jonathan Holmes
