The Washington Wizards announced their pre-draft workout for Monday, June 21. The workout will feature a pair of players from UCLA who could be in play for the Wizards in this year's draft.
Name | Pos. | From | DX Ranking |
Kevon Looney | F | UCLA | 20 |
Norman Powell | G | UCLA | 41 |
Ziga Dimec | C | Slovenia | N/A |
Duje Dukan | F | Wisconsin | N/A |
Jesse Morgan | G | Temple | N/A |
Youssou Ndoye | C | St. Bonaventure | N/A |
As of right now, Looney and Powell are the Wizards' first and second round picks in the Draft Express mock draft, so it's good to see both players showing off what they can do before Thursday's draft.
Both players can fill needs for the Wizards. Looney is one of several stretch fours projected to be available in the mid-to-late first round. You can read our scouting report on Looney here.
Norman Powell would add some depth behind Bradley Beal at shooting guard, as Otto Porter transitions to playing more small forwards and Rasual Butler is unlikely to return next season. He likely won't provide the same shooting touch (he shot 31.9 percent from beyond the arc this season with the Bruins) but has some good defensive tools.
