With March Madness now behind us, the basketball world now pays attention to the rest of the NBA season and the playoff race that's looming.
I'm not surprised that John Wall will not be playing today. He obviously needs the rest. Hopefully not to this point though:
Given how the standings look now, the Wizards are going to be the 4th or 5th seed of the playoffs, so I think everyone knows that there's a longer term goal in mind. I'm also glad to see that Nene and Paul Pierce have sat out the last couple games, and they could very well rest again tonight though Pierce is a game time decision.
Even though players are resting, this game is a chance for Washington to hit the 45-win mark for the first time in 10 seasons. Sure, that's not much better than being a merely mediocre team. But at the same time, it is an accomplishment that the Wizards can still hang their hats on. I do want them to win more games than last season for sure.
