The Wizards have a 3-0 series lead against the Toronto Raptors. A second consecutive year of at least a second-round appearance is within reach! But like Rocky Balboa said in a number of his famous movies, "It isn't over until it's over."
If your haven't looked at this type of post before, this is a quick recap of BF community members' attendance and commenting history during GameThreads, a/k/a the Roll Call. Take a look at the snippet below for past games:
Now that I've got that out of the way, let's take a look at the numbers from Game 3.
How many comments did we get?
Unfortunately, our numbers slipped a lot to 1,558 comments by 83 commenters. :(
I'll also admit that I didn't comment at all during the game. That was because I was at the game, where internet coverage was spotty at best. Also, as you might have expected, our comments and commenter totals have dropped considerably, likely because there was a sellout crowd. Not that I'm complaining. I also assume that a good number of you also attended the game at Verizon Center on Friday, and that contributed to the drop in commenters and comments.
How many comments did each commenter make?
Congratulations to BEALiever, juniorwizkid, and Rice 2012 for commenting over 100 times each!
What were the three most rec'ed comments?
We have a tie for first and second place with a total of four comments making the cut. This time, however, one commenter got three of the four comments listed, as Emmet O'Neal's comments received both of the second place comments and one of the first place ones! Let's get to them below:
Emmet O'Neal got second place for this comment where he anticipated pancakes (10 rec's)
Emmet also got the other second place comment for sharing this GIF of Drake not feeling too well
At first place with 19 recs, Emmet also had this:
And with the other first place comment with 19 recs, Big Spoon shared a Liu Kang fatality move, a reference to Mortal Kombat
Onto Game 4!
The Capitals have a chance to finish their first round series against the Islanders by beating them later this afternoon, and the Wizards' brooms are ready for Sunday. But Paul Pierce will make sure that the rest of the team won't be thinking about wearing black or doing some other crazy antics for Game 4. I also expect that Toronto will give another strong effort, so don't expect them to go away easily.
I know I've been mentioning the Caps a lot this week, but it would be really cool to see two of Monumental Sports' teams advance a round in the playoffs on the same weekend. I just wonder how much crazier it can be if ... both teams can go even further than that.
