On Monday, the NBA announced that Marcin Gortat was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played from December 21 through December 27. In that time, he averaged 21.3 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 1.67 blocks in three wins over the Sacramento Kings on Monday, December 21, the Memphis Grizzlies on December 23, and Brooklyn Nets on December 26.

In the month of December, much of the attention has been paid to John Wall who has averaged 22.8 points and 11.8 assists this month. However, Gortat has played at a high level this month himself where he has averaged 17 points and 10.4 rebounds in 11 games played.

After a great week at the office and month, it's good to see that the Polish Machine is getting a league-wide honor for his performance.
