Wizards vs. Celtics second half GameThread: Washington starts sloppy, down 72-49 at halftime

There's still more basketball left to play. Talk about it here.

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

Here's a good stat I saw Steve Buckhantz and Phil Chenier talk about before tonight's game.

And here's a bad stat:

It is nice to see that The House of Guards knows how to take over games late. But at the same time, the Wizards can't afford to give up tons of points and play sloppy basketball.

After losing by as many as 30 (!!!!) points in the second quarter, Washington was able to cut the lead to 15 when Wall and Beal started turning on the jets. But the Celtics were able to get the lead back up to above 20 points before halftime.

We're down, 72-49. The Wizards MUST take better care of the basketball. So far, the 11 turnovers they gave up turned into 17 Celtics points. On the flip side, the Washington only forced Boston to turn the ball over seven times and scored just five points off of them.

Let's keep the comments rollin'. Maybe a miracle will happen.
